Downtown Montessori Academy is looking to hire full-time, self-motivated, flexible and energetic Montessori Classroom Assistants to work in a creative and hands-on environment. In this position you will work with the lead teacher in implementing the Montessori approach in the classroom by creating a warm, nurturing, safe environment for children, in which individuality is respected and independence is encouraged.

This 12-month position also requires working with pre-school and elementary-aged children in the before-and-afterschool child care program.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to spend time outdoors as needed
  • Must be able to perform light cleaning/disinfecting, work with cleaning solution
  • Bending, sitting, standing as needed to actively engage children

Candidates should have a minimum of a 2-year degree or pursuing a degree, preferably in Early Childhood or Education. Experience working in a Montessori classroom preferred, although not required.
