“Either education contributes to a movement of universal liberation by showing the way to defend and raise humanity or it becomes like one of those organs which have shriveled up by not being used during the evolution of the organism.” -Maria Montessori, the Formation of Man (1946).
Dr. Montessori invoked “universal liberation” points to her deep understanding that all oppression is linked and that none of us is free until all of us are free. To that end, Hayward Twin Oaks is committed to achieving educational equity for all students. Our aim is to create a truly inclusive environment where a student’s race, ethnicity, or socio-economic status is not a predictor of their outcome. We provide students with a holistic, student-centered experience that embraces and celebrates differences. As we value the ability to serve students and families from a broad range of cultural heritages, socioeconomic backgrounds, genders, abilities, and orientations, we are intentionally seeking staff who reflect our increasingly diverse student population.
We seek trained guides, with state teaching credentials (any state) or those who are enrolled in credential programs. Hayward Twin Oaks is an authentic AMS-affiliate public school with a Montessori-trained HOS and diverse student population. Each classroom of 28 students has an assistant and fully prepared environment. Competitive Salary/medical, dental and vision. Apply now for August 2022.
The diverse student population is reflective of the Bay Area–more than 18 languages spoken. About Hayward Twin Oaks Montessori School
Hayward Twin Oaks Montessori School is a twelve-year-old public Montessori charter school serving 305 students in grades 1-8. We aim to provide students with the opportunity to acquire an education based on the educational philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori, with an emphasis on independent learning; hands-on materials for a holistic education; and mixed-age classrooms to encourage long-term educational relationships and character development. Our school will actively recruit and serve a culturally, ethnically, and socio-economically diverse group of students reflective of the Hayward district; promote an integrated multi-subject teaching and learning curriculum; strive to close the academic achievement gap in minority and disadvantaged students; provide a Spanish-Enriched curriculum for all students; and pursue an overarching aim of nurturing healthy community stewardship. Our goal is to educate children to be active, aware citizens with the skills and knowledge to participate meaningfully in the diverse and challenging new century.
