Overview

International Montessori House of Children is looking for an enthusiastic, dependable individual to fill a Lead Montessori Primary Guide position. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and positive team.  Hours for the full-time guide position are Monday – Friday 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM with a one-hour break.

The lead guide will be responsible for facilitating the Montessori Primary curriculum with the support of an assistant. Classrooms are traditional Montessori prepared learning environments emphasizing independence, freedom within limits, and discovery. The ideal applicant for this position has experience with children 2.5 to 6 years of age and is self-motivated and capable of creating an engaging, nurturing, and kind environment for our students.

We are looking for individuals who are self-starters but also enjoy working collaboratively.  The lead guide will be interested to take on new challenges as these arise, develop their own knowledge and skills, show initiative, manage a varied workload, and be content to work flexibly.

Children in the primary program are introduced to the 6 areas of the classroom in the appropriate sequence as outlined in the traditional Montessori Pedagogy. Grace and courtesy are continually practiced and modeled by staff. The ideal applicant will be comfortable with potty training,  positive discipline, and classroom management.

All required tasks are performed according to the policies and procedures of the International Montessori House of Children and childcare regulatory agencies.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a Montessori classroom is required.
Montessori Primary certification is required. IMHoC sponsored further education is provided to teaching staff.
Passionate about working with children
Ability to build rapport with children and adults
Positive and patient demeanor
Excellent verbal communication skills
Willingness and capability to work in a collaborative TEAM environment

**At least a high school diploma is required. Montessori Primary Certification is required*

IMHoC has a 90-day probationary period and review prior to a permanent offer to join the team to deliver exceptional standards.
