Overview

Duties and Responsibilities:

Design, implement and lead initiatives that ensure diversity, cultural inclusion and global awareness for LIFE’s educational community.
Design, implement and monitor effectiveness of the LIFE’s new curriculum , methodology and culture.
Provide input in forming procedures and school structure with a keen interest in ensuring that this pilot of the new and innovative model can be duplicated in the next phase of franchising locations.
Lead and facilitate educational creativity that thinks outside the current traditional school culture. Cultivate a cultural mindset regarding this new and exciting journey in educational innovation that is geared for the wellbeing of the student while focused on academic achievement.
Ensure that LIFE Academy receives all eligible and applicable accreditations.
Collaborate with other teachers to form a community for LIFE, as a role model for students reflecting high moral values & grace to reflect the curriculum in daily school life.
A leader and model of our school vision and Honor Code.
Ensure all required, pertinent and applicable trainings and professional development is completed for all school staff.
Leadership:

Implementing, evaluating and reporting to the School Founder and or Board of Directors the school’s goals and objectives reflecting organizational and state goals.
·      Maintain a positive school/community climate and a safe and healthy environment

 

Instructional:

Planning, implementing, and evaluating the school instructional program based on student needs and within school guidelines.
Review teacher lesson plans and instruction to ensure they match with the school’s curriculum, vision, and mission.
Administrative:

Planning, implementing, supervising, and evaluating all other programs, i.e. Athletics, Extra-Curricular, Co-Curricular.
Determining staffing needs including selection, supervision, staff development and evaluation of all school personnel.
Recommends to the School Founder/Board of Directors the appointment or dismissal of all employees of the school.
Ensuring the school is operating within the set budget.
Overseeing the proper record keeping processes, and inventory control of all school resources.
Maintain records such as but not limited to student test scores, attendance records, overseeing IEPs, and all other reports as needed for efficient operation of the school and compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
Recruit students and faculty for the school as needed.
Assure that all academic components of the school’s charter are being met.
Enforce the Policies and Procedures of the organization as set by the Board of Directors and School Founder/Board of Directors.
Develops and implements school rules and regulations in keeping with the Policies and Procedures.
Attends and participates in meetings of the Board and its committees as requested.
Ensure that the School Founder/Board of Directors is informed of the operations of the school and any problems which arise.
Is familiar with School Laws and Florida Statutes and attends other duties as assigned by or in the absence of the School Founder/Board of Directors.
Computer Skills:

·      To perform this job successfully an individual must have knowledge of accounting software, order processing software, spreadsheet software and work processing software.

 

Desired Qualifications:
Florida certification as either School Principal or Educational Leadership required within the first year of employment.  Five (5) years of related professional experience required. Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in education) required, but Master’s Degree (or currently enrolled in) is preferred.

 

Knowledge and fluency in/of the following:

·      Montessori curriculum, program, and methodology

·      International Education curriculum and methodology

·      Language Education programs and methodology (preferably Arabic and Mandarin)

·      Project Based Learning curriculum and methodology

·      Life Skills and Green Education curriculum and methodology

 

 

Salary and Benefits:
Salary amounts are set annually by the School Founder/Board of Directors.  This school uses a performance based salary schedule for all new employees whereby pay increases are based on a number of agreed upon measures.
