Elementary I Montessori Teaching Position
Oscar Mayer Magnet School, part of the Chicago Public Schools is accepting resumes for potential Elementary 1 position openings for the 2022-23 school year.
Candidates must have an appreciation of the Montessori philosophy, and the willingness to implement the Montessori Curriculum within a public school setting. Teacher will work with approx. 25 multiage students ranging from 1st – 3rd grade. This teacher will be working both with the Montessori curriculum and the Common Core Standards, using both Montessori and teacher created materials. This position requires time spent outside of the classroom to collaborate with their colleagues, create instructional materials, complete training, etc. A high level of organizational skills are needed to manage the multi age classroom, assess students needs, differentiate with individual work and progress monitor 25 students individually.
Oscar Mayer is a preK through 8th grade Chicago Public School, located in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago. We provide Montessori in the lower grades and International Baccalaureate- Middle Years program in middle school. All grades are also part of our fine arts programming.
IL teaching certificate, proficient in balanced literacy and guided reading instruction, understanding of Common Core Standards for primary years K-4th grade in both language arts and mathematics.
Teaching position requires a Montessori E1 certificate. Candidates interested in the position that are not certified can apply, but must be willing to attend full time training during the summer. This position does not require Chicago residency.

A magnet school within the Chicago Public School district. We are located in the Lincoln Park area of the city. We are ages 4-8th grade. (Montessori, age 4-3rd grade)
