Lead Teacher

San Anselmo Montessori School seeks a Primary Montessori Teacher to help direct student activities academically, spiritually, emotionally, and physically in a prepared Montessori environment that challenges each child to reach their fullest potential.  The teacher is responsible for promoting the mission of the school and maintaining the operation of the classroom in accordance with State of California Licensing.  The Montessori teacher performs his/her services under the direction and supervision of the Head of School.

Qualifications:

AMS/AMI Primary Teaching Credential- Required

Strong ability to work collaboratively

Commitment to professional growth and development

U.S. Work Authorization- Required

Salary/Benefits

Full Time Job/Year round

Range-$50,000-$60,000

Job Responsibilities

To provide a Montessori program consistent with the SAMS mission that meets the emotional, physical, intellectual and social needs of both the individual and the group.

To observe, record, maintain and report significant group and individual work progress and behavior daily or as needed in the classroom and on the playground.

Supports and supervises the Teacher’s assistant, aide, interns, substitutes, and parent volunteers. Provide necessary instruction and training for those assisting in the classroom environment.

To communicate a positive attitude and set a positive example for the children, your colleagues, parents, visitors and the community at large.

Stay within classroom budget every year

Supervise and run the Early Care program

Ensure respectful and open lines of communication with parents.

Plan and host Parent Education events twice a year and as needed

Order facility and snack supplies

Assist in the planning and maintenance of the outdoor environment

Participates in the students’ admission process

Provide first aid as needed and complete appropriate forms for parents

Participate in regular evaluation process through an annual self-evaluation towards goals set by you in conjunction with the Head of School

Participate in Professional development annually

Attend all faculty meetings and scheduled staff events

To observe all school policies and procedure as outlines in the Employee handbook, letter of intent, and as communicated by the Head of School

Create and implement a fundraising project annually

Substitute whenever needed

Prepare and facilitate parent teacher conferences

Communicate with Head of School whenever needed
