The Lilliputian Montessori School is expanding!! We are looking for a qualified Lead Teacher for our Toddler classroom who is also willing to help our Aftercare Program.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Flexibility to work with children age 18-36months along with an Assistant teacher.
  • Participate in and maintain continuing education requirements as set forth by the State of New Hampshire
  • Ensure the continuation of an integrated curriculum and a flexible program, consistent with Montessori values and the needs of students’ families
  • Responsible for maintaining an ongoing dialogue with specialty Teachers and coordinating curriculum integration and implementation with these Teachers.
  • Works with students of various abilities assigned to the classroom, including those with learning differences as diagnosed; teacher may be required to participate in meetings, training, and planning cooperatives to fully meet each child’s needs
  • Responsible for preparing an environment (both indoors and outdoors) in which the furnishings and materials are complete and correspond to the needs of the group; for maintaining a clean, orderly, and attractive Montessori environment, including the care and maintenance of classroom materials and equipment; for communicating needs for the classroom to the Director as needed
  • Creates an environment that demonstrates rapport with, respect and kindness for, all students as well as between students; teacher models and teaches conflict resolution and problem solving strategies in the classroom
  • Promptly reports discipline concerns beyond typical classroom strategies to the Director; a meeting with parents (and Director, if necessary) should be arranged
  • Responsible for the safety of the children left in his/her charge until dismissed to a responsible adult; no child should ever be left unsupervised either inside or outside the classroom, except when directed by the Teacher
    Ensures that the physical environment adheres to all health and safety regulations as required by the State of New Hampshire and reports any issues to the Director
  • Be able to help children with their “potty training” goals
  • The ideal candidate will be able to work between the hours of 8-5. Be reliable, patient, team oriented, familiar with creating a curriculum for Toddlers, familiarity with potty training techniques, and have a love for the outdoors(we spend a lot of time outside).

Must have to meet State Mandates/Requirements:

  • Minimum of 18 credits in Child Development, Early Childhood, or Elementary Education from an accredited university.
  • Be able to pass a fingerprinting local and federal background check
  • At least 1000 hours working in a licensed childcare facility
  • First Aid/CPR certification (or willing to obtain within 90 days or hire)
  • Montessori experience is preferred but willing to train the right candidate
