STAR School is looking for an experienced Montessori Elementary Teacher to lead our 6-9 year-old Elementary Classroom (called Nooséłí Bighan “Home of the Growing Children,” in Navajo) beginning July for the 2021-2022 school year.
SALARY: $43,000 – $53,000 depending on education and experience
We are looking for a confident, effective Montessori elementary lead who is comfortable with Montessori in a public setting. Successful teachers at STAR School are eager to develop meaningful relationships with students and their families and to support the culturally responsive values and mission of the STAR School.
- Montessori 6-9 Certification
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2+ years’ experience leading a Montessori 3-6 classroom
- Desired: Arizona State Teaching Certificate
- Desired: Familiarity with Navajo Culture; Bilingual English/Navajo
- Desired: Experience working in a Public Montessori setting and/or experience working in a Title I school
- First Aid/CPR
- Current DPS IPV Fingerprint Clearance Card will be required upon hire.
